フランス出身のセシルとオランダ出身のメレルは、アムステルダムのヘリット・リートフェルト美術学校 (創始者はデ・ステイル運動で知られるオランダの著名な建築家/デザイナー) グラフィックデザイン課の同期生。詩作や言語による遊びから共同作業を始める。卒展のためのシリーズ「Crazy Diamond」を制作。これは、12点のポスターと12のラジオ番組からなり、ピンク・フロイドのリードシンガー、シド・バレットにインスパイアされたもの。2008年卒業後、アムステルダムを拠点に積極的に活動している。

Cécile Tafanelli (France, 1982) and Merel van den Berg (The Netherlands, 1984) met at the graphic design department of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. They shared an interest in poetry, language games, word associating and absurd or ironic texts. This lead to several collaborations, of which the most recent was a graduation project called “Crazy Diamond”, a series of twelve radio shows accompanied by twelve posters. All these radio shows were inspired by songs from Syd Barrett, the first lead singer of Pink Floyd. He caught their attention because of his psychedelic, (non) methodical, associative way of writing which generally resembles the way they like to approach projects. They graduated in june 2008 and currently share a studio in Amsterdam.
