“Darling It’s Death” T-Shirt by Steve Nishimoto

Zoo York のアートディレクターをつとめるなど、ニューヨークのスケートボード、ストリート・アートシーンで活躍してきたスティーヴ。彼のスタイルには、ベタベタのストリートではなく、どこか知的なひねりが感じられます。

今回は、ノスタルジックなホラー映画のスチール写真をコラージュして新たな感覚とメッセージを加えたもの。どこか、MJのスリラーのPVにも共通するような感覚です。狼男とノスタルジックなセクシーアイドルをミックスしているところがおもしろい。

Steve has been playing active roles in NY’s skateboard and street art scene including working as an art director for Zoo York. But different to typical street style, his works always have intelligent twists.

The materials of these his new works are from still photos of nostalgic horror films and sublimating them into new feelings and messages which might be similar to MJ’s PV, ‘Thriller”. It is interesting that mixing wolfman and nostalgic sexy idol.
