日本では、男の子もピンクのTシャツって、抵抗なく着こなしてくれます。欧米、とくにアメリカでは、まったくと言っていいほど着ないんだけど、どうしてでしょうかねぇ？ま、ピンクはゲイのシンボルカラーっていうのもあるかもしれないけど、別に見ず知らずの人からゲイと思われようが、知ったこっちゃないですけどね。クリスチャン・ラクロワが派手なピンクを纏っているはカッコよかったし、ピンストライプのテイラードスーツの中にピンクのシャツなんてのはイギリスでは、よく見かけるのに、不思議ですね。ぼくは、ピンクのTシャツは好きですし、よく着ます。

グラフィックですが、ディテールにこだわっていて、ホントにおもしろい。ひとつひとつのパーツが不思議でキレい。こんな見る人を何となく微笑ませてくれるファニーなイメージってホントにいいものです。

このファニーなスタイルは、作者ファビアン・モンハイムの人柄そのもの。ファビアンは、膨大な量の古い写真を収集しています。その中からインスピレーションを受けた写真をデザインに取り入れ、コラージュを制作します。だからモダン・ノスタルジックかつファニーなわけ。インクジェットプリントだから細部までよく表現されプリント面もとてもソフトでスムーズ。

In Japan, boys wear pink t-shirts with no hesitation and often it looks good but it is rare to see in western countries particularly in America and I am always curious why it is so. Does anyone has an answer for it? I guess that one of reasons would be that pink is gay people’s symbolic color but I guess who cares even if strangers see you as gay. I remember that Christian Lacroix looked really cool when he wore bright pink color and it is popular to see business guys wear pink shirt under pin-striped tailored suits in UK.I, myself like pink color t-shirts and I often wear it.

Graphics? Once you have a close look, you see it is very well detailed, well finished and quite interesting.It is good to see images that are funny and give us smiles.This funny style is absolutely from one of Fabian’s own characters.

Fabian stocks enormous collection of old vintage photos.He uses some of those photos which give him inspirations and he creates collage works.This is why some of his works have nostalgic feeling but evolved to modern style in funny way.Ink Jet printed so the image is very well detailed and printing surface is very smooth and soft.
