“Guitarist” T-Shirt by Julia Guther

ベルリンを拠点に活動するアーティスト、ジュリア・ガサーのTシャツ。

ダウンロード全盛の時代。音は通りすぎるばかりで使い捨てのよう。そして、音とビジュアル・アートの関係は、ますます希薄になるばかり。それに抵抗するかのように最近の方向性は音楽モノです。Mocky や Gonzalesを手がけた Ninja Pleasure をセレクトしたのもそういう方向性だから、というのもあり、そして自分の生活に一番密着したものだから。

そんなとき、Masha Qrella のアルバム、”Speak Low”のスリーヴを見たとき、やわらかなタッチとMasha の音楽ととてもよくマッチしたイラストレーションにとても惹かれました。そして、そのイラストレーターが Julia Guther という訳。このTシャツ、”Known by Heart” = 「ハートで分かってるヨ」というメッセージもとてもいいと思います。

ところで、前述の Masha Qrella の Speak Lowのアルバム・イメージのTシャツも来春発売予定。期待してください。

Songs are downloadable today. Music and songs just come and go and disposable. Connections between music and visual arts are becoming loose and far, more and more. As trying to resist it, my recent direction is music related. This is why featuring Ninja Pleasure who collaborated with Mocky and Gonzales. Also, music is always there and close to my daily life.

Then I saw and immediately attracted by the illustrations when I bought Masha Qrella’s album “Speak Low”. The illustrations with very soft and healing touch which matches Masha’s music very well. This is how I met with Julia Guther’s works. I love the message on this t-shirt “Known by Heart”

By the way, T-shirts with the artworks from Masha Qrella’s album “Speak Low” are going to be available in Spring-2010. Hope you are going to like them too!
