“The The” T-Shirt by Parra

Parraはビジュアル・アーティストとして活躍するかたわら、バンドもやっています。そしてバンドの名前はフランス語で、Le Le。これを英訳すると、The The っていうわけです。このバンドは3人組で、ヴォーカル担当と音源担当。そしてParraは、コンピューターとプロジェクターで、ビジュアルDJを担当しています。いつか、日本でも彼らのパフォーマンスを見てみたいですね。

ところで、このTシャツ、「着抜」という方法でプリントしています。これは、生地の色を一度抜いて (抜染=ばっせん、といいます) プリントし、そしてウォッシュをかけるという方法。濃いめの色のTシャツに白などのあかるい色をプリントするには、通常は厚くて重たいインクを使わないと色がきれいにでない。すると当然プリント部分は、厚くゴワゴワになるし、汗を通さなくて、着ごこちがイマイチになってしまいます。で、この着抜という方法だとプリント部分はとてもかるくてソフト、とても着ごこちがいいものになっています。このプリント部分をぜひさわってほしい。

Parra is well known as the visual artist. But at the same time he does the band and its name is “Le Le”. Needless to say, it is “The The” in English. Le Le is the 3 pieces band, as vocal, sound source + Parra. Parra does live visual performance using computer and projector. Hope we can see Le Le’s performance someday in near future.

By the way, this t-shirt was printed with the technique called “Discharge + Print”. Discharge means to take the dyed color away from fabric. Then print and followed by washing. To print white or light color on darker color t-shirt, print part will be very heavy, unbreathable and very uncomfortable if the usual plastisol ink. But with this Discharge + Print technic, print part is light, smooth, soft and fully breathable so creates full comforts. We wish you can touch this print surface.
