ひと目見てとても気に入った Mocky のアルバム、”SASKAMODIE”。このアートワークを描いたのは誰かしらん？と思ってクレジットを見たら 「Ninja Pleasure」というヘンテコな名前が載っていました。そして、カナダ出身のピアニスト/プロデューサー、Gonzalesのアルバム “Solo Piano” でも同じ名前を見つけ、ますます「この人誰？」と、俄然興味がわいてきました。本名は、Nina Rhode。ベルリンを拠点にファイン・アーティストとして活動する傍ら、Gonzales のステージやスリーヴデザインなどのプロジェクトに参加しています。

そして、これはNinaがPublik: のために描き下ろしてくれたTシャツ。このメッセージは、サークルになっていて、”Why Do It, If It Can Be Done” とも読めるし、”If It Can Be Done, Why Do It” = 「もしそれができるんだったら、何でやるの？」とも読めるメッセージです。

I fell in love at first sight when I saw the album sleeve image of the Mocky’s album “SASKAMODIE”. I wondered who made this artwork and I found a quite strange name in the credits as “Ninja Pleasure”. Then I found the same name when I saw the credit in Gonzales’ album “Solo Piano” who is the Canada born pianist/producer. It grew my curiousness. Her real name is Nina Rhode and she is the fine artist based in Berlin. She also has been participating in various project with Gonzales beside her solo activities s the fine artist.

This message is made as the circle and it can be read as “Why Do It, If It Can Be Done” and also “If It Can Be Done, Why Do It”.
